5 out of 5 stars Best game console ever   July 22, 2007

When I was first shopping for an Xbox 360, I was going to get the premium version. Luckily, about a month later Microsoft released the Elite. I quickly bought it, because an additional $80 is worth the 100 GB increase in memory. I quickly filled the first 20 GBs with demos, Live Arcade games and other things, so if I had bought, the premium, I would already filled it up. Also, the Xbox 360 has been out a year longer than the PS3 and Wii, which means the game library is much larger, having games for any type of gamer, no matter what their age. If you are planning on buying the Core System, I recomend that you at least buy the Premium. The Xbox 360 iself has all sorts of downloadable content: videos, live arcade games and more. This product is the best thing on the market, so buy it now!

1 out of 5 stars What is Microsoft thinking?   August 1, 2007

What is Microsoft thinking when releasing this console? Yes, the 120gb HDD is a great future, but it's a huge hassle to port over your older account / games etc.. to the new HDD. But that is only a minor problem.

The biggest draw to the Elite is the included HDMI port that is missing from the Core and Pro units. And boy is it a disappointment, rather then provide HDMI 1.3 profile they opted to only include the 1.2 Profile that doesn't even allow 5.1 surround sound. Why include an HDMI output, if you are not going to provide the best to the consumer?

One other thing people should be aware of is that the Elite is also faulty, it will get the RROD (Red Rings of Death). This was admitted by M$ with their 1.3 billion dollar (recall) repair warranty.

Why would I pay more money to get an XBox 360 + HD Drive + Wireless controller instead of buying a PS3, and in a couple of years, I'll likely have to throw away my HD Drive, and will be playing mediocre games compared to 50Gig releases on a Blu-ray.

3 out of 5 stars Why didn't they just release this bundle at launch?   April 29, 2007

This bundle sounds nice, but makes you wonder how many are going to rebuy the system again. Would have been nice to see this come out last year before everybody had to drop $400 on their 360's. For all its worth I'd rather drop the money into a PS3 than rebuy a 360 just because they make a few minor tweaks to the system.

At least I know the PS3 will work for me. Durablity has always been an issue with the Xbox 360. Not sure I will want to risk dropping a cool $500 + on something that might not last three months.

5 out of 5 stars Everything PS3 wants to be!   April 29, 2007

I just purchased the 2nd system sold at my local game shop and I would have waited 24 hours for this. Without a doubt Sony is in trouble. Microsoft has not only fixed all of the glitches with the previous XBox's, they have created a superior machine, at a suiperior price. NEarly silent, faster load time, 120 gig hard drive that didn't move an inch when I downloaded 5 movies on it, who needs BLURAY! This is the system of the millenium gamers, no doubt. Anyone foolish enough to purchase a PS3 should trade it in for an Elite, post haste! And btw, anyone who says HDMI doesn't make a difference, has no idea what they are talking about. I tried the system with both the component hdtv cable and hdmi cable and the hdmi will never be unhooked again!
