Great game for the right person December 8, 2007 Jason (USA) 15 out of 15 found this review helpful
After trying numerous games to get my daughter interested in the Wii, I finally found one. My daughter loves this game, which is a type of "dance dance revolution" game only using the wiimote + numchuck instead of a dance pad, and with some "shopping & dressing" on the side. My 12 yr old son saw the game, rolled his eyes and went to his room. His friends came over, saw the game, and -- get this -- started playing! And they were having a blast! I got some good blackmail footage on the camera ;-) My son joined in a few hours later "just to find out what's so great about it", and he seems to be having fun with it too. After two days of ownership (largely ignored on day 1) there's already a combined 9 hours of playtime into it. The songs are great (appears to be around 16 songs) Technical problems with it: 1) Many times it will not read the "move" even though you've done it. 2) Odd problems with walking around, such as not being able to go places you expect to be able to go. 3) Graphics are OK, not great. In general, the developer could definitely have done a better job, and if it wasn't Hannah Montana as the subject, this game would not be able to compete on its own merits. But the positives for those who love Hannah far outweigh the negatives, making this a worthwhile game for the Hannah Montana fan. If you're not a fan, look for other games in this genre instead.
Perfect for young girls. January 31, 2008 A Busy Reader 14 out of 16 found this review helpful
I got this Wii game with the hope that my 4 year old daughter would find enjoyment. We have one of the princess Wii games, and her favorite part of the game is dressing up the princess in different clothes. I hit the jackpot. I helped her out the first time or two with understanding the 'dance' moves - you get blue (right) or pink (left) icons that indicate a move (point right arm up, point left hand to the side), and as the icon rolls across a certain point, you move the Wii-mote or nunchuck in that way. If you get it just right, you get credit. The timing is important, you don't want to be too early or too late. You do your concert and get rated on a 5-star scale as to how perfect you hit the moves, and you earn shopping credits. Then you get to shop and get more pieces to dress Hannah in. You can also style her hair, too. It is absolutely perfect for my 4 year old, who had practically never heard of Hannah Montana before this. She is learning the songs, beginning to sing to them as she does the 'dance' movements, and she's getting a lot of activity with all the extra jumps she's putting into the movement. It's exactly the game that I hoped it would be.
Fun game for Hannah fans!! December 26, 2007 Memyself&I (Texas) 12 out of 15 found this review helpful
My daughter loves anything Hannah related and this game is no exception. The object of the game is basically to preform concerts and shop.I know but if you are a busy pop star you will have little time for anything else! You earn money and fans by doing things like keeping up with the dance steps and posing at the correct time at your photo shoots. The sound and grapics on this game are really nice by wii standards and the tutorials are very clear and easy to follow. You can also change clothes and hair styles and the more money you make the more things you will have to choose from. I definately reccomend this game for what it is.An upbeat, friendly, easy to play game that I am sure any Hannah fan will love.
Downfall of Society January 25, 2008 Joel C. Pelletier 10 out of 45 found this review helpful
This game is contributing to the downfall of our society. How can we live in a world where our youth grow up idolizing an individual who stands for the rampant stereotype of jobless over glamorized women who's sole form of income is being popular? I understand that your young preteen girls truly enjoy Hannah Montana, but maybe it would be a good idea to steer your kids away from this kind of maligned influence. P.S. As a studying game designer, the game itself is also terrible. Kids only enjoy it because it has Hannah Montana slapped all over it. It is an overly simplified version of stolen gameplay mechanics that are executed extremely poorly. I beg of you out of fear for humanity to not buy this game.
FUN! you can only dance, no singing January 25, 2008 Dooksarini (Northern NH USA) 9 out of 12 found this review helpful
I bought this game with my christmas money. I thought that it was gonna be singing and dancing. But it was just dancing. Which is fun. The world tour section only took me two days to complete. but all the fun you can have with it after totally makes up. You can play two player. Or one player. One of my favorite parts is making the fashions!!! you can also go shopping, sign autographs, and go to photo shoots!! The moves in the dance section are a teeny bit hard to get at first. And if you put some extra energy into it it is an awesome, and fun, exercise! All the songs are hannah montana so if you don't like her songs, don't buy it. I LOVE the game and would recommend it to anyone who likes, hannah montana, dancing, and all around fun!!!
