This is one of the best games out there for game boy color. The Mayor of your town wants you to run a farm because the town is running low on money. He will give you 3 years to run the farm. Your town has buildings like a seed shop,A tool shop,A Church, A Livestock store, and more. You can choose to be a boy or a girl farmer. You can choose a pet has a dog or a cat.You can have animals like cows, chickens, and sheep. Later on is the game you can have a horse and you can race him with other people. When you get your saddlebags you can use him as a shipping device. You can grow lots of kinds of crops.Like corn, peanuts,Watermelens,And lots more. You got to grow grass to store in your silo to feed your animals.Your farm has buildings like your house, cow barn,a chicken coop,A wood ben,And more building but you can build them later.More things on your farm includes a fishing pond,A crop field,And Animal pastures There is a mountian behind your farm where you can pick berries and mushrooms.Take a dip in the hot springs or just take a walk. This is a very very fun game And thats why I rate is five stars.
Almost Perfect! February 13, 2001 Richard Dominguez (near Dallas, Texas) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This RPG is so close to perfect that I had to give it 5 stars. My kids ordered this and played it night and day for a week. I picked it up on a Friday evening and could not put it down all weekend. My wife thinks I'm nuts! This is great fun for kids and adults. What's wonderful is that this is a totally non-violent, yet fully engaging gaming experience. The graphics are well-done. The characters are cute. I only have 3 suggestions for improvement: 1) It is sometimes tricky to place your character in the proper position to use a tool, such as the hoe. 2) I wish the game would stop you from planting seeds in the wrong spot. I wasted 500G's of grass seed when I accidentally threw it all over the inside of my house. I almost cried! 3) I wish that HM2 kept the part about finding a wife. Please support the creation of more nonviolent games by buying this one. My kids loved it so much that we will be planting a garden this summer and raising some chickens!
Harvest Moon Harvest Moon Harvest Moon January 3, 2001 Emme (Austin, Tx) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I thought Harvest Moon one was the best GBC ever. I am always buying games, but never liking them and trading them for more and more games. I am proud to say that I still have and play my first Harvest Moon game. I got HM 2 for Xmas and haven't been able to put it down. This game is soo great. There are so many new features from harvest moon one. I will NEVER trade this game. If you haven't played Harvest Moon one, you can buy it now for cheap and see if you like it...then spend the 30 bucks on Harvest Moon 2. I promise it is money well spent on either game. :)
No weapons = 100% Happieness for parents April 14, 2001 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
first of all this is a game that would apeal to the 12 & up age group. And people who like the bang bang blow thier heads off games wouldnt really like it that much, if at all. you start off having the mayor of the city giving you 3 years to bring this old farm back into business, to do this you must get rid off all the rocks and weeds before you can til the ground. its kinda confusin how to get the items and how to plant seeds and junk like that because the little instruction book dont help that much(no offense Natsume). another bad thing is that the days go by very fast about 5-10 min if you play the whole day up to 12'o clock. i rated this game with five stars because it has no guns, swords ect. plus it is very entertainin especially on long car rides....
Harvest Moon's great... February 10, 2002 4 out of 6 found this review helpful
Harvest Moon 2 is a great game. You get the plant your crops in the pattern you want them to be in, fish, raise cows and sheep, and choose which new buildings (such as greenhouses, sheep and cow sheds, etc) to build if you have enough money from your produce. In town, there are some events you can participate in, but overall, you farm and farm and farm for money so that the mayor won't turn your farm into an amusement park after the period of time. It's fun and all...you get to choose what crops for what season (there are seasons, you know) and breed or buy or sell cows and chickens and sheep. However, after a while it starts to be become rather boring because that's all you seem to do: water and weed your fields, care for your animals, and fish for stuff for the market...that's why I rate it 3 stars.
