 The original Xbox....old habits die hard! January 23, 2008

I received my first Xbox console during the summer of 2002 and as a bundle pack I also received 2 controllers, a remote control adaptor and 2 games. One game was a racing game and the other was the infamous "Halo" game. After about 3 weeks of procrastination, I decided to hook it all up and just experiment with it....it had been awhile since I had last played any video game system. The racing game was just ok. The Halo game was incredible, addictive and fascinating! I played constantly and even went so far as to use a few "sick" days at work because I was so involved with working my way through the different levels of difficulty.
When my original Xbox went "kapoots", I felt terrible and immediately went on an Xbox shopping expedition. I bought one on Ebay, but it soon began to "act up" so I got rid of that one and went with the new/refurbished one from "Ourspecialgift" via Amazon.com. This new machine is perfect and allows me to once again, play the Halo game whenever I want. I'll eventually buy a new 360 model but am in no hurry as I'm completely convinced that it may very well be a great disappointment. I have absolutely NO complaints in regards to my buying experience with Amazon or Ourspecialgift. Hope this review helps.

The original Xbox is a very entertaining and fun console; it holds its own among the other console giants (Playstation, Nintendo, etc.) There are many games that can be played, for instance, Halo, and it even plays songs and movies. However, this particular console doesnt seem to have a very long lifespan. After only a couple of years, it begins to have problems with disc-reading and overheating. Most commonly, it refuses to read any disc you put in it, making the entire machine just a useless waste of electronics. Buy this console if you want to have fun now, and dont mind spending $100 to get it fixed every year, or get something that will last longer like a Playstation. The choice is yours, but let me add that it is VERY annoying later on trying to get this thing to work at all.

I ordered this product 3 weeks before my boyfriend's birthday. The product never came and I was told I needed to wait longer because it may be in the mail. It never came, I had no present, and I had to wait one month before I got a refund.

This was a great system but i sold it and got xbox360 and being that the xbox360 can play xbox games it would'nt make sense to keep the xbox but this was a fun great system.
