A GREATLY UNDERRATED ROMP December 29, 2007 Eric Blair (USA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I'm amazed that this game hasn't gotten better reviews! The story is literally the only weak portion of the game, it has superb graphics with no frame rate issues or jaggies, super fun and diverse gameplay, and competent AI to make your stay enjoyable. I've beaten it on Easy and I can definitely see playing it at LEAST one more time on a harder difficulty. Big thumbs up from someone who plays a lot of console FPS. $29.99 from Amazon? A steal....

Just dropped 62 bucks on this game and definitely wish I would have rented it first. It's not bad...it's just not great. Feels like a PC game to me, and I'm a fan of consoles. Sniper-zoomed-in aiming isn't smooth at all. You'll tend to just keep using the same pattern over and over again to kill enemies in each situation so the game becomes a little boring after awhile. Graphics are good. Weapons are cool. Time powers are interesting but not QUITE as cool as they could have been. Please, rent before you buy.
Entertaining but a little not up to HD December 24, 2007 J. Collantes 3 out of 5 found this review helpful
Well... Let me tell ya that I'm NEWBIE reviewing stuff on the net... so, bare with me. What I've got to say about this game is that it is actually very entertaining and all that... it's kind of cool when you can actually stop time and see the rain falling all over you, or steal guns froms your enemis and then execute them... so good but actually the game comes short on the graphics, yup! you actually can do a lot of stuff in the game but the graphics can be a LOT better... Bottom line, this is really not a MUST havegame, It's a nice to have game.... and you get FPS with time powers (Nice).
I spent months with this game... January 2, 2008 E. Devaney (los angeles, ca) 3 out of 9 found this review helpful
I worked at Vivendi (Sierra is a 'fake' company owned by Vivendi). While there, I spent a few months testing this awful game. Total lack of plot, painfully easy gameplay, followed by ridiculously difficult gameplay, sprawling maps that appear open but are actually strictly linear... if you accidentally travel outside of where they want you to go (not always obvious), you'll be lost for hours. Oh, and if you wander too far and find a way *around* where they want you to go, you'll find yourself stuck, having to reset to the last save. This game was originally set for the original X-Box, but took so long to develop that they had to upgrade it to 360 status. The problem is that they didn't upgrade enough. This game leads you by the nose, and is fun for twenty minutes or so, before getting frustratingly familiar. Please don't buy this game unless you've already played through it and for some reason really like it. Renting this game will save you money.

If you liked "Gears of War", you are in for a let-down. Imagine walking around in the rain with limited weapons, basically no purpose, and no real desire to continue on. The movie tweens look great, but that's about it. No features, no cool ops, no purpose. Save your money and wait for the next series of Gears of War.
