4 out of 5 stars Different, But Still Lots of Fun....and Manaphy Too!   March 12, 2007

Ranger isn't your typical Pokemon game. Yes, you go around and capture Pokemon as usual, but you don't 'battle' like in games past. Instead you use your stylus to 'capture' your Pokemon friends. You don't keep them for the whole game either, you'll only use them to help you on missions and then they are released. It's a totally different Pokemon game than in the past, but it's still lots of fun! It's a little short though, only about 10 hours for the main story. You can still go back once you beat the game and do a few special missions or try to 'catch em all' and fill your browser if you're so inclined. There's also a special mission to unlock and capture a Manaphy egg once you beat the game. Once you have the egg, you'll be able to transfer it over to the new Pokemon Pearl or Diamond and hatch your very own Manaphy. It's going to be the only way to 'catch' Manaphy in Diamond and Pearl.

1 out of 5 stars Did the classics just vanish   November 23, 2006

It seems to me that these creators are to obsessed with long introductions. This isnt 7th grade writing class. Who cares about the past. You never get any freedom to move around. I always imagined pokemon to have the luxury to go back and wander aimlessly. If you think this is good because it is a pokemon game i have to say that if i had a choice of playing pokemon silver or pokemon ranger i would go with silver any day. But it depends what your looking for. Are you looking for a book or a game! My opinion is that they started to go over board in blue rescue team with the introduction i practically skipped the whole thing and was totally confused. The thing is it is to short. You need a game you get into and keep playine but this was BORING with the introduction and SHORT with the game. Even though I have never played this it reminds me of blue rescue team and i didnt like the long introduction and quotes. My advice borrow someones or get it off half.com because its better to try it then to get it full price

5 out of 5 stars Great twist on things!   March 14, 2007

This game was very fun! It keeps me buisy even after the story line is over, just like the other quality pokemon games! It uses the DS touch screen for a brand new twist. You must use the screen to draw circles around the pokemon to befriend them not capture them. You can use the stylis to move around and select things, or is your hand gets tired, you can use the traditional buttons! I use the bottuns when the car is bumping around and moveing my hand. Great game! simple to understand, east to use. another quality product from the pokemon people.

PS Stay away fro Red and blue rescue team. It realy stinks and is boring. I didn't know that the pokemon people could actually come out with something bad, but that ones a rotton egg! its pretty boring.

This is a great pokemon game! i am a hardcore pkmn fan,but i think they can do better. it is alittle too easy except for closer to the end and on ranger net. i beat the game in 2 days! i heart psycic and fighting poke assists. i use them alot. raquaza and deoxis are hard.
