Not perfect... March 2, 2008 C. Davis (Boise, ID) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
1. It is a very pretty phone-- assuming you don't scratch it. 2. It is a little heavy, but it is small which is nice. 3. The speaker phone is terrible. 4. Reception has been great and I work in a room that has cement walls on all 6 sides (I average about 2-3 bars in my lab). 5. Camera is nice [2megapixel with a pseudo (led) flash] however, you have to hold impossibly still to get a decent picture. 6. The navigation button requires some getting used to. 7. My wife got the Sony Erickson slider and she seems to like that phone a lot better than mine. It is a little smaller, a lot lighter and has better 'software.' The only thing it doesn't have compared to this phone is an aluminum case and the LED flash. 8. If you're dead set on getting the LG shine because it is so pretty, you may want to hold out for the LG Glimmer (essentially the same phone however it has a touchscreen). 10. This seems like a lot of negatives but, it is miles better than any other phone I have tried. It consistently works and I rarely get dropped calls. It is a good, solid phone and I'd recommend it to anyone that is looking for a free upgrade that just wants to make calls and take the occasional picture.
Love at first sight! January 10, 2008 Mey Chu (NJ) 2 out of 4 found this review helpful
I absolutely love this phone. I got it a week or so after it came out and I am beyond happy with my choice. The design is amazing, and the functions for this phone are so easy to use. The battery on average last about 3-4 days, but recharging is very quick. The navigation button/stick is also very fun to control with. The picture quality is great. This phone has music, photos, movies, and so much more. Get this phone, you will not regret it.
Cute Phone....but... January 19, 2008 N. J. Tamayo (Vista, CA.) 2 out of 10 found this review helpful
This phone is very nice, although I had better reception with my Motorola RZR. I have full reception on the LG and it says No Service Available???! Amazing. Phone up to date on bill, and yet, full reception, and not being able to use it??? Horrible. The keys are my only problem, as I love to text, with even my tiny hands I have issues with the buttons being too small and very flat. That is my only peeve. Reception and The buttons. Bad LG...Bad!
Great Phone so far..... May 15, 2008 William Crockett 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I have only owned this phone for 5 days, so I guess this review may be alittle premature but I'm gonna do it anyway because this is by far the best phone I have owned. I have owned phones by Nokia, Motorolla and Sony, but this phone beats them all. I will agree that the joystick is sensitive and I have sent a few unfinished text messages but that was because I hadn't figured out you can press the "0" button to create a space instead of moving the joystick to the right. Other than that it is a great phone. I have ordered some custom fit protective plastic that sticks to the screen after reading reviews that the screen is easy to scratch. I was upgrading my phone at the AT&T store when I saw this phone and instantly fell in love with this phone and it has not let me down yet. I highly recommend this phone. Hope this review helps anyone this doubt about the LG Shine. Go for it. You won't be disappointed!!!
Not useful if you actually want to talk on it. May 23, 2008 S. Jones (Texas) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Pros: -it's very shiney -the camera takes pretty nice pics, for a phone -feels very sturdy -slides nicely -I like the joy stick Cons: -very difficult to hear the person you are talking to -when I turned the volume up, it was very distorted and impossible to hold a conversation -speaker cuts out, leaving out portions of the conversation For example, I was talking to a friend. There was a pause in the conversation. Then I heard, "ra." And I asked what did you say? She said, "Did you get a new camera?" All I had heard was the last syllable of "camera." Kinda hard to talk to someone when you miss most of the words they are saying. I checked my signal-- 5 bars. -battery only lasts 1 to 2 days -not many bars if you aren't close to a tower -constant buzz in the background when talking I returned the first Shine that was sent to me. Received another. I had the exact same problem. I'm going back to Motorola. summary: Looks really nice, but totally impractical if you would actually like to use it.
