1 out of 5 stars DO NOT BUY!! Buy an Iphone instead.   March 6, 2008

I have owned this phone for five hours . After attempting to put in the memory card 5 tims and not being able to get the SIM card in I get the demon phone synced up to my MAC. After it was synced up it vibrated . when I was following the prompts on the screen for the setup I was using the stylis to tap the screen , I recieved no response from the device. So as i had done many times before with my Palm 750 I used my finger nail . Oh no . The screen decided to look like a pack of skittles and not work . I am now out $280 . After go back to the ATT store and calling both Palm & ATT about this i recieved the basic SOL response. After being told by an ATT store manager that Palm's have a screen DEFECT. Iphone have an optical screen like an TV screen so you cant get that speider web thing happeneing. Dont beleive the hype. Unless you treat this thing with white golves dont buy it or you will be left with a expensive white paperweight.

I've only had the phone for a couple days, and it's my first PDA phone. It's different, but I'm a texter, so it's way easier (even though the keyboard is super small). It did go blank to a white screen for a second, but hopefully that was a minor glitch?? I purchased a skin cover for it and a screen protecter, and my only qualm is that it gets lint all over it!
I definitely recommend the phone....it's sleek & classy looking, and the white/green color combo makes it different than all the other phones out there!

5 out of 5 stars Love it!   June 5, 2008

I have never ever fallen in love with a phone, I hate to say it but this is the first time ever that I am!

I was a skeptic (and a novice) on smartphones. Hmmmppph...how can a phone be smart? You need a cell phone to keep in touch with your contacts, maybe text a little and thats it right? That was me before I bought this phone.

Eversince I bought this phone and one other smartphone (not this brand) for my husband, my whole family is going to town with texting and IMs (we have unlimited texting for the entire family).

The color of this phone is funky. Some says its kiddy but I love the green accent on the keyboard. Its not white but pearly white which makes it unique. At least I will not see scratches on this phone should it has any in future.

The QWERTY keyboard is awesome. At first I thought it was ridiculously too small for my fingers but it works like a charm. Maybe thats why God created fingernails. Texting has nvr been fast and effortless.

The calendar had saved my very very forgetful memory. Instead of putting reminders on my Outlook calendar at work, I just put them in my phone. In fact, I tend to add more and more dates, appointments and reminders when I get home to remind me on what I need to do and which client to contact the next day. (I am a mother of 2 teenagers and a toddler and am a busy insurance agent).

Shopping has nvr been easier. Just use the memo, or voice memo, no need pen and paper.

Lastly, the 'off ringer' slide on the top part of the phone makes it so much easy to turn the ringer off when I have clients at my desk. Less than a second and the ringer is off unlike some phones where you have to push some buttons in order to do that.

Like I said, I was a smartphone skeptic. I do not use the Media stuff or the web with this phone (cant afford the plan) but the texting, IMing, calendaring and all the good stuff is enough to make this phone work for me. I can use the laptop and my home PC if I need to check my corporate email and surf the net. I have not gotten the chance to use the other functions on this phone yet but my teenager has used the 'Documents' software a few times to edit pictures and other stuff.

I do not miss my old best friend, the Motorola Razr...I am too in love with this one.

4 out of 5 stars great for what it is   March 20, 2008

if you're looking for a smartphone that's cheap, with no bells and whistles, this is it. its easy to use, and can chat happily with my macbook. aesthetically, the palm centro is the perfect fit for small adult hands (like mine). if you're going from a numeric keypad to a QWERTY pad expect minor adjustment issues (nothing like driving a stick shift after cruising around in an automatic) but these should sort themselves out after a while.
i wouldn't give a phone this pricey to a tweenie (having paid for an unlocked quadband GSM model), but its perfect as a starter smartphone for teens or adults who aren't willing to shell out large amounts of money for an iPhone-- yet.

4 out of 5 stars My issues   July 9, 2008

Just returned this pretty little phone after 29 days...the things I did not like...1. Palm OS instead of the Windows Mobile I was used to, although I have never paid for or used the internet options, my prior phone was one of the first Smart Phones....when I pick up a phone with Windows it just feels comfortable. 2. No back key...arghhh I found myself having to head back to square one which I found very frustrating...when I returned it I was told if I hit DONE that served as a back key...who knew??? ...did not have the opportunity to play with the done key. 3. Very small battery life it needed to be charged most every night and I am NOT a big cell phone user...old one went 3 or more days by comparison. 4. GPS set up required additional hardware that the sales person knew nothing about. On the plus side it is pretty, mine was white and I smiled whenever I looked at it...Although I don't text and the keyboard being Quirty was "different" I liked the feel of the keys...they are nicely rounded and I felt easy to use. It was 3 weeks before I went back to the manual and learned the vibrate switch was a simple push on the slider at one end of the phone...I went through SO many menus looking for that option..I mean when you need it you need it...so that is a very cool application. I read somewhere I could organize the order of the buttons on the screen but never learned how...would have prefered to have the ones I used regularly on the first screen...I actually liked the voice dial feature since my prior phone which also did not allow it to be done through Bluetooth had the option hidden under several keys...this one is very simple to use...bottom line is I know I am going to miss it and the iPhone I am going to try next has negatives also...such as NO voice dial at all as I understand it, and again a different OS than I am used to...
