The best headset for a music/phone device ever September 27, 2007 H. jin Lee 6 out of 13 found this review helpful
I haven't received the phone yet-totally excited-but this is a blurb about SE Walkman phones in general. I've had the W600i and I LOVE the headset that SE has with their walkman phones. I've read in many postings that the asymmetrical headset is a con and people can't figure out why the difference in length - this drives me mad and I had to vent. The reason for one end of the headset being longer is simple: the longer end is meant to go behind the neck so that the headset hangs off your neck when you take the earbuds off. I personally find this genius. I don't have to worry about dragging the headset when the earbuds are off. And the earbuds! Its perfect - it actually fits in your ear - not like the slippery buggers that ipods have.
Never Use At&t!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! September 27, 2007 L. Crisalli (Staten Island, New York United States) 6 out of 30 found this review helpful
In April, I signed my contract with At&t, i'm now awaiting delivery of my 6TH PHONE!!!! 2ND W580I!!!! Customer Service is a complete and total joke and will be of no help whatsoever. I recevied my W580i yesterday to replace the previous 4 LG CU400's! The slot where the sim card goes will not actually hold the card unless you take it to a At&T mobile store, where they jam the card in so far it is impossible to remove. The memory card slot on the top of the phone does not actually hold the memory card unless you hold down on it, even then it's a crapshoot as to wether or not your phone will be able to access pictures and or ringtones. The memorycard will say that it has no more memory on it with only 120 contacts listed. After this contract is done, i will be forever done with At&t and will be going back to Sprint, where i had no problems.
Excellent phone though some concerns. October 31, 2007 Mark Twain (Milpitas, CA) 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Guys, this phone is good. I guess we can not compare with I phone. The thing I like compare to I-phone is its size. Also the FM radio. This phone feels good in hand. on negative side - key pad is small. Slider seems good but not sure its life. There are reviews about key pad issue (breaking keys). I hope it is fixed in newer lots. Even with these issues, I like the phone and I don't want to return/exchange it. I thought battery is issue but battery life improved after made screensaver off. Earlier navigation light was on most of the time and eating up the battery. Now I have to charge in 2 to 3 days depending on use. Its bad that no memory is included and so I could put only 2 songs. Plan to add 2 GB or 4 GB. Outlook contact/calendar sync works well and that is one of the deal breaker for me. Camera is good too. I returned W810 and got it. I am not too happy about it as W810i was more durable I guess but I love this phone though I have concens about its durability but it does not feel flimsy to me as some reviews said. There is no 4.5 so giving 4. Update - It has been little over a month. No issues yet related to durability. Created my own ring using Music DJ application in the phone. In alarms I can play my own MP3. Since speaker phone is good , I can play Mp3s on speakerphone while phone is in my shirt pocket and get enough volume.
Phone powers off during calls November 1, 2007 Just A Guy (Ohio) 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I've read the other reviews, and I don't really see anyone having the issue I have: this phone powers itself down during phone calls, usually after about 1 minute. The Good: There is a lot to like about this phone. - I loved the pedometer counting my steps, showing me calories, and the training program for my morning runs. - The screen was beautiful. I loved having email access. The Bad: - The sound quality wasn't very good. I didn't notice until I went back to using my ancient Samsung, and the sound quality difference was remarkable. - The interface is also clunky. I had to press a lot of buttons to get simple tasks done, like entering contacts. - It is very easy to sign up for monthly services and buy programs I don't want. Be very careful pressing buttons to exit out of programs. On the last screen, the "exit" button becomes the "buy" button, and if you are not paying attention, you may get a big bill next month. The Awful: - The phone powered down during calls. After working with AT&T, we replaced the phone, battery, and SIM card. Basically an entirely new setup, and the phone still powered down during calls. My gut instinct tells me this is a software error related to using the phone on a tower with a high call demand, and seemed to have a higher correlation with calling other cell phones vs. land lines, but I could never figure it out. - AT&T service: after going through all this work, replacing everything, and still having the problem, AT&T recommended I replace the handset (again!). I said no and filed a complaint with the BBB. Update 26 Nov 07: After the BBB complaint, AT&T contacted me and sent me a Samsung A717. Now this machine is a truly fantastic phone.
Pretty decent buy October 5, 2007 S. Nemmara (San Francisco, CA) 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
A good phone that I primarily bought for its A2DP capability. I have a bluetooth stereo in my car and this phone works just great with it. PROS: + Bluetooth A2DP Support + Good Camera + More than decent phone quality (but not as good as my RAZR) CONS: - Flimsy feel on all its buttons - Not so good service in all areas (but could be a AT&T problem)
